On the latest episode of Lets Play Thru, the team received a thrilling tip-off about Sam's Club offering the exclusive Members Mark golf balls online. A golfing aficionado, Gabe was eager to put these balls to the test on the course. Priced at $27.99 for 24 balls, these gems promise a urethane cover, unique dimple design, and a core that's both resilient and soft. Despite lackluster packaging, the balls themselves seemed promising, adorned with the Members Mark logo and a sleek alignment marker.
The initial shot with the Members Mark ball left Gabe surprised by its hardness but impressed by its straight flight. The loud impact sound added to the intrigue surrounding this new find. Subsequent wedge shots showcased remarkable spin control, with one shot even pulling back a staggering 8 feet. The alignment line on the ball, reminiscent of a Pro Series 2 aesthetic, caught Gabe's eye. As the test progressed, drives with the ball consistently delivered good distance, with one impressive shot reaching 260 yards.
The feel of the Members Mark ball was slightly firmer than expected, leaning towards the characteristics of a ProV1x. Flighted wedge shots demonstrated the ball's stopping power and control, while chip shots revealed a tendency to roll out more than desired. An iron test on a challenging Par 3 highlighted the ball's excellent height and carry, with some shots stopping precisely as intended. Over nine holes of rigorous play, including rough and sand escapades, the durability of the Members Mark ball shone through, proving resistant to unsightly marks. Stay tuned for comprehensive comparisons with other golf balls on future episodes of Lets Play Thru.
